Turisme de Barcelona will promote and sell the wine «Vinyes de Barcelona» produced by the Cooperativa L’Olivera at the Can Calopa estate in its drive to disseminate wine culture and tourism. This is the only wine produced in Barcelona and is the result of a collaboration between Barcelona City Council, which owns Can Calopa, and the Cooperativa L’Olivera, which has been managing 3 hectares of vineyards at the estate on Collserola since 2010, and also makes the wine. The project has been designed to revive agriculture on the outskirts of the city and urban farming. L’Olivera also runs a social inclusion programme for 20 young people with special needs (at risk of exclusion and/or with disabilities) who live and work on the estate and take part in the production process from start to finish.
A year ago, L’Olivera launched a series of wine tourism experiences that Turisme de Barcelona has promoted through its different channels, guided tours an the sale of «Vinyes de Barcelona» at the Wine Tourism Information Point inside the Columbus Monument, where you’ll find more than 70 labels from the different Designations of Origin around Barcelona.
