World Pride Day 2021

Turisme de Barcelona marks World Pride Day with initiatives on social networks and its website to show the city as a diverse destination

28-06-2021 | Barcelona LGTBI

This Monday, Turisme de Barcelona will be marking World LGTBIQ+ Pride Day with a new look for its website, visitbarcelona.com, and twitter feed featuring the rainbow flag, and a promotional video released by the Catalan Tourism Agency (ACT) to tell the LGBTIQ+ community about the attractions of the Catalan destination.

Turisme de Barcelona has been working for some time on a programme to raise Barcelona’s profile as a key city in the defence of diversity and the rights of this community. It has also set up a working group, comprising the Catalan Association of LGBTI Businesses (ACEGAL), Barcelona City Council, and other private businesses and events, such as the Casa Batlló, the Berdache Festival and the Circuit Festival, with a shared LGTBIQ+ tourism strategy, which has as its main event Barcelona’s hosting of the IGLTA (International Gay and Lesbian Travel Association) Annual Global Convention in 2023.
