Turisme de Barcelona continues to work tirelessly to attract congresses and events in the meetings and business tourism sectors. These were the words of Turisme de Barcelona CEO, Eduard Torres, following the cancellation of the Mobile World Congress, and they reflect the hard work done over the years to build a solid and diverse business tourism model that will enable us to overcome adverse circumstances.
This is why, from the very outset, Turisme de Barcelona and BCB, have made themselves available once again to the Mobile World Congress organisers, the GSMA, to start working towards the 2021 congress. This year, the city has more than 33 congresses confirmed, attracting over 1,000 delegates. One of them is Integrated Systems Europe (ISE), the world?s leading audiovisual congress, which has been held in Amsterdam until now and will move its headquarters to Barcelona next year.
This is excellent news resulting from our work with other institutions and is just one of many other congresses that will be confirmed as we carry out our promotional activities to attract congresses through the BCB programme. Today we have 127 new congress applications on the table and are continuing to work tirelessly in this direction every day.
