This summer Turisme de Barcelona has launched a new promotion strategy aimed at raising the visibility of the wine cellars that are members of the consortium and promoting the various different Catalan DO wines. The new strategy was launched with the "Wine of the Week" promotional campaign at the Wine Tourism Information Point at the Columbus Monument which will be extended over the year with free tasting for the purchase of the combination pack "Columbus Monument - wine or cava tasting-. The first wines of the week offered in this campaign are 'Temps de Flors' (Sumarroca), 'AA Mirgin' (Alta Alella cava), 'Cuvée BCN Rosat' (Codorniu rosé cava), '5 Quarteres' (Can Calopa-L'Olivera) and the wine 'Can Bas Muscat' (Can Bas-Domini Vinícola).

The Wine Tourism Information Point, located at the bottom of the Columbus Monument, is a space for publicising, promoting and selling tourist services connected to wine and cava production in the areas around Barcelona. Up to 70 different references of wine and cava from five different Catalan destinations of origin can be tasted and purchased: Alella, Catalonia, Cava, Penedès and Pla de Bages. The tasting can be combined with a visit to the viewpoint on the monument, located 60 metres above ground level, from where a panoramic view of Barcelona can be enjoyed.
