Trade Mission to the East Coast of the USA

Turisme de Barcelona is establishing new promotional relationships with the North American market to raise the profile of the Destination.

In September, Turisme de Barcelona, alongside the Catalan Tourist Board, headed a promotional campaign on the East Coast of the USA to establish trade relationships with new agents and tour operators. Visits were made to New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Providence, Boston and the Massachusetts Area, with a total of 45 contacts and 18 visits.

The United States is the second largest global tourism source market in terms of spending volume, beaten only by China. Indeed, the North American market has grown almost 20% in recent months and the United States has again become the main international source market for Barcelona, ahead of the United Kingdom.
