Second edition of the event dedicated to accessible tourism

Turisme de Barcelona in its bet towards formation and knowledge has organized, together with the Council of Barcelona and in collaboration with the City's Institute for Disabled People and ECOM, the second edition of the course on accessible tourism and care for people with disabilities and other needs.

More than 50 companies entered the different workshops and experiences depending on various disabilities. This second edition has been thought more practical that the previous one, as personal experience allows you to detect better the needs of people depending on their disability.

Barcelona is one of the better prepared cities for accessibility, with most of the spaces one can visit adapted for people with reduced mobility, like the beaches, most of the museums or city's attractions and leisure; and most of the interest places are accessible for people with visual, additives or intellectual disabilities, such as singular buildings, churches, markets and exhibition centers among others. Now, we are working to incorporate accessibility to all events, online promotion, or by training the workers on the attraction of the visit and touristic products.

Our objective is to involve entities that work in the field of functional diversity as well as public and private operators of the touristic sector, in order to make the city 100% accessible for the neighbors as well as for the for the visitors, and with the objective to reinforce a quality and innovative touristic destination.
