New repeatability study by the Tourism Observatory

The Tourism in Barcelona Observatory (TBO) has just published its latest repeatability report according to which 47.4% of visitors have been to the destination (city and region) before, while Barcelona remains stable at 46.7%.

Visitors revisiting Barcelona and the rest of the destination (a combination of city and region) behave in a similar way.

At Turisme de Barcelona we very much welcome this study. It provides proof that the slow tourism phenomenon is gradually taking hold thanks to visitors who come back in search of more leisurely stays, prioritising quality over quantity. As a result they visit fewer places and show more interest in our food and culture.
