From this spring, the Turisme de Barcelona shopping scheme (Barcelona Shopping City) will offer a new attraction, moving beyond the big names. It is called 'Barcelona Unique Shops', and is promoted by Turisme de Barcelona with the participation and support of the Trade Department of the City Council and the collaboration of the Chamber of Commerce, the Consortium of Commerce, Crafts and Fashion (CCAM) and Barcelona Oberta. The idea of this initiative is to highlight the uniqueness of the city's commercial establishments by showing them off to visitors and tourists so that they can find out about them.

The scheme promotes personalised tours (on request for groups, visits arranged according to day, time and type of shop) for visitors and for locals seeking "experiences" connected to shopping, culture or gastronomy. This kind of shop, where you can enjoy culture and commerce, is identified using the label 'Barcelona Unique Shops'. Further information can be found on the website Barcelona Shopping City Unique Shops, where, in addition to listing the participating businesses, various routes are offered according to shop type, from the city's longest-standing shops to gourmet establishments or the workshops of fashion and accessory designers or sustainable fashion options.

Turisme de Barcelona currently offers this option for professionals such as tourist guides, event managers, travel agencies and companies. They are walking tours with an invitation to visit shops. The idea for these tours came from 'Barcelona Genuine Shops', a scheme started last summer and returning on 20 April: every Friday evening, there is an opportunity to explore the unique shopping possibilities in the Born and the Gothic quarters, including some of the city's longest-standing shops, and the workshops of fashion, jewellery and accessory designers. The tour costs €25, covering a professional guide offering cultural information about the district, with tickets available on the website Barcelona Tickets.
