The autumn will get underway with a packed calendar of congresses and meetings in Barcelona, beginning with five congresses in the healthcare and medical sector that will follow in close succession this September.
First up is the IASLC World Conference on Lung Cancer which will attract 8,000 delegates, researchers and scientists from more than 100 countries specialising in thoracic oncology. The congress will overlap with the CIRSE Radiology Congress, which Barcelona will be hosting for the third time and will attract 7,000 specialised delegates. The city will be hosting the annual congress of the European Association of Diabetes (EASD) in the second half of September, with 15,000 registered delegates, followed by the ESMO Oncology Congress on 27th September, with 30,000 participants already confirmed. In October, Barcelona will be hosting a number of important meetings, including the UEG Gastroenterology Congress, with 14,000 delegates attending, the EANM Nuclear Medicine Congress, and the IoTS World Congress, which specialises in the internet of things and will be hosting a forum on AI.
Barcelona ranks among the world’s top 5 meetings cities, and hosted 1,728 congresses and conventions last year that had a strong impact on the city’s economy.
