Approximately 93 % of the budget comes from the generation of own resources by Turisme de Barcelona, which boost the fixed amount provided by the Municipal Council and the Chamber of Commerce, which currently accounts for about 7 % of income.

Turisme de Barcelona manages and markets a series of tourism products designed to help visitors get the most out of their visit. They comprise a series of proposals which cover the different needs of tourists who visit Barcelona.
The Barcelona Bus Turístic, the best way to see the city in just a few hours, is the main element. Els Barcelona Walking Tours take visitors on a number of itineraries around the city. Arqueoticket, Barcelona Mar, Barcelona MetroWalks i l’Audioguia Gaudí are other proposals which are also of interest to locals. There is also the Columbus Monument, an example of optimising the promotion of the city’s existing heritage, and theCatalunya Bus Turístic, which offers five out-of-town trips. The Barcelona Card, features free offers and discounts. It is specifically tailored to visitors and has met with great success. Turisme de Barcelona is responsible for assisting and providing information for tourists and visitors who need advice and help in finding and securing services such as accommodation, guided tours, travel tickets, etc, It currently runs a network of some information points, throughout the city. The Consortium also has information points at all the city’s gateways in order to ensure everyone who so desires has access to them: airport, port, railway stations, bus stations and motorways. Every year, the Tourist Attention Service dealt with 2.7 million enquiries.
